Group Work

Although one-to-one lessons are, without doubt, the most effective, beneficial and flexible way of learning the Alexander Technique & Chakra Work, many people also benefit from and thoroughly enjoy the group work sessions that I offer. These are specially designed for small groups meeting once a week for a series of 3-5 sessions to learn and practice the basics of either Alexander Technique or Chakra Work. I also give one-off introductory workshops and talks on both.

Group work is ideal for finding out what this holistic, balancing work can offer, and seeing how it can be of use to you, without the need to commit to individual lessons. It's also friendly and fun, and there's a real advantage in learning and sharing experiences with others as you progress.

I combine a mix of very gentle physical activity with sitting and listening. There's plenty of variety, as well as an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere and you're welcome to participate and contribute to the group at any level you choose.

There are handouts to reinforce what we learn and I may suggest a few minutes “homework“ between sessions to practice what we're learning, but that's completely optional.

Back to Balance Oct 2014

In 2012 and 2013 I led a new residential workshop called Let Your Body Sing! at the Yarn Market Hotel at Dunster on Exmoor. Now there's a new Alexander Technique course - Back to Balance - at the Yarnmarket this autumn. It will begin on Friday evening, Oct 10th, and run until Sunday lunchtime, Oct 12th.

This weekend course will provide practical guidance, gentle hands-on work and will demonstrate how the Alexander Technique can benefit you, whether you're a newcomer or experienced user of the Technique. Residential and non-residential places are available but numbers are limited, so early booking is essential.

I offer one-to-one lessons, group work, talks & workshops.
